Inspirational Quilt Stitched with Love for CCF
Here at CCF UK we'll soon be ready to accept your bids for this unique quilt, each patch lovingly cut and hand stitched with words of inspiration by over 50 women from all over the world. We're hoping to raise a substantial sum by auctioning this 160" by 110" (approximate measurements) quilt backed in natural vintage French linen. The project was launched earlier this year by creative textile experts, Les Soeurs Anglaises, which invited past workshop participants to enter a quilt piece to raise funds for CCF and the opportunity to win a place on a future workshop at LSA.

Stitching for CCF!
In October, one of CCF UK's biggest supporters, Katie Armitage of Les Soeurs Anglaises, will be auctioning a fabulous quilt on E Bay to raise funds. Each quilt piece has been submitted by supporters and each includes hand stitched inspirational wording. A piece which appeared in the press today is pictured above. The quilt is a work in progress and we'll let you know when it can be seen on E Bay.

Black Bamboo Opening
Earlier in July CCF opened a chic new restaurant, Black Bamboo, in Phnom Penh staffed by CCF trainees and graduates. This is a money making enterprise which will enable more young people to be trained in the art of cooking and catering by CCF offering long term employment. Above is Scott in themed bamboo shirt together with images of the restaurant. Be sure to book a table on your next visit to Cambodia ....

London to Brighton Challenge!
Many congratulations to Darren Fisk and Alex Guy, two of our outstanding fundraisers who previously donated and raised £12,000 for the Buy-a-Bus fundraiser! This past weekend they rose over £1,000 by taking part in the 56K, London 2 Brighton Challenge. Through this walk, they were faced with challenging conditions of wet fields and slippery mud, but they managed to complete the course in fewer than 13 hours! Undaunted, they are planning to register for the Thames Path Challenge and take on the 100k in September!

8 Year Old Hannah Raises Fund for CCF
Last
night the Trustees of CCF UK were delighted to meet 8 year old Hannah from
Notting Hill Gate. Hannah,
a Korean living in England and a pupil at Pembridge Hall School, has shown a
deep interest in the Cambodian Children's Fund. She recently visited us
to hand over money for the Nutrition Programme which she had collected by
asking her friends and family to donate instead of buying her birthday presents.
This is her second year supporting
Cambodian Children's Fund. We
put a pack of information together for Hannah and loaned her a DVD. It is
with the help of children such as Hannah that the children in Cambodia will
find a better life. Thank you Hannah! You are a star and an
inspiration to others ....

Buy-a-bus success!
Congratulations and many thanks go to Darren Fisk and Alex Guy for all their amazing hard work, and for successfully raising approximately £12,000 through fund-raising events for CCF. Thanks to their efforts and donations to their Just Giving page (www.justgiving.com/Buy-a-bus) CCF will now be able to buy a bus to help get children safely to school, transportation that was desperately needed. Thank you again - it is with the help of people like you that CCF is able to make such a difference to the lives of so many.

Boxing for CCF
A massive Thank You to Peter Gilk at Brunty's and his son Ben for raising approximately $45,000 for CCF. Much of the money was raised by Ben taking up boxing for the cause (http://www.justgiving.com/Ben-Gilks) This absolutely phenomenal amount is funding Shelter 2 at CCF in Phnom Penh making a huge difference to the lives of vulnerable children. Thank you Pete and Ben. We look forward to hearing about your visit there in April.
