Help Fund Raise for CCF this Christmas

Darren Fisk and Alex Guy have been undertaking amazing work for CCF with fund raising events (www.jusgiving.com/Buy-a-Bus) involving friends, family and customers of BP Raund (see the image below of the '70's Disco fund raiser).  Darren also paid for the 10,000 fund raising  leaflets pictured.  If you or any of your friends would like copies of the leaflets, please let us know and we will send you a quantity:  enquiries@ccf-uk.org.  We are all including them with our Christmas cards to raise awareness and further funds.

Thames Path Challenge 2013

Last month a handful of us walked the Thames path challenge. This was a 50 or 25km walk starting in Putney and following the thames path. We all managed to finish and in doing so raised £3081.53! Not bad for a days work…

Whilst I for one can’t say it was the most enjoyable experience of my life its all made worth while knowing that the money we walkers managed to raise is enough to fund a class of 25 students for a year!

So thank you walkers! Your efforts will go a long way to improving the lives of many families.

You can sign up to our mailing list to hear about more fundraising opportunities by following this link and clicking the CCF UK supporters box.

Exciting New TV Celebrity Patron

You may recognise glamorous TV celebrity AJ Odudu from her time on kids TV (in the past) or have spotted her more recently presenting an award at the Pride of Britain.  Having met AJ last year at an event in Burlington Arcade where she showed enthusiastic interest in CCF, we approached her following this year's Awards to discover whether she would agree to becoming a Patron of CCF UK.  She not only agreed but immediately asked what she could do to help!  Above is an article which appeared in today's Metro newspaper which gives you an insight into AJ and her background.
We are delighted to welcome AJ who joins our existing Patrons:   human rights lawyer Michael Mansfield QC, ex DG of the Institute of Directors Miles Templeman, author and art critic Robin Blake, photographer and film director Sam Taylor Johnson and the Reverend Lord Griffiths.

CCF get Elephant Branded!

We thought you would be interested in the following article which appeared online on Positive Luxury regarding the very generous donation made by Elephant Branded to the children at CCF:

Elephant Branded Make a Special Delivery

Elephant Branded have made a special delivery. For every Elephant Branded bag purchased, a school bag is donated to a child in need around the world. This month, Elephant Branded bought us news of their latest shipment.

Over 500 school bags were delivered.... to (CCF) school children in Cambodia. Each bag was made from ethically sourced and recycled materials. Children may have to travel greats distances to get to school and having a school bag to fill with the things they need becomes essential.

“Donating tangible, worthwhile and practical school bags to children that need them is the cornerstone of our business,” commented Tim Mendelssohn of Elephant Branded. “At the moment, our primary focus is on children in places...who desperately need them to aid them in achieving a good education. We want our customers to know that when they buy one of our products, they are donating real things to real children and that, in turn, they are making a real difference.” -

See more at: The bags flew thousands of miles to reach their destination, but each bag was accompanied by a tree seedling, which was then planted by each of the children to off-set the carbon emissions of each bag and to help build a forest for the children’s future. -

1st Chorleywood Rainbows Stay Silent for CCF

The1st Chorleywood Rainbows (the youngest division of the Girl Guide Association) has chosen CCF as their sponsored charity, and we are pleased to announce that last month they completed a sponsored silence in aid of CCF.
They were silent for 30 minutes and raised £166.80 - no mean feat for fifteen 5-7 year old girls!
“The girls had the opportunity to choose the charity to support and they selected CCF… I think it was meaningful to them because they could relate to the children and the cause of CCF,” noted Sandra Hirschberg, group leader and current CCF child sponsor.
We would like to sincerely thank this remarkably silent group of girls, and hope that they serve as an example to others that even the smallest people can make a big impact to help others!

Raise Money Without Trying!

Two ways to raise money for CCF UK without really doing anything at all!

 Shop

easyfundraising.org.uk

By signing up with easy fundraising you can raise money for CCF UK while you shop! How it works: when you shop at various partner sites (including amazon, eBay, lastminute and SO MANY MORE), a small percentage of your spend is donated to CCF UK. Once registered you can download a piece of software that will detect when you are shopping on a partner site and prompt you to claim your donation which can be up to 15% but is usually in the range of 0.75-3%.

Search the internet

We are also launching our own internet search page which raises money through your normal internet searching. All you need to do to start raising money is visit our site listed below. Sounds too good to be true? It really isn't - you can even find out how much you're helping raise along the way and pass this on to as many friends, family, colleagues as you like - the more people using this search page, the more money is raised for Cambodian Children's Fund UK.

So, simply visit our website and we'll guide you into how you can set us as your homepage. You'll be raising money for us with minimal effort in no time at all.

But if there's no cost involved - where does the money come from?
  • Yahoo! search participates in a global search advertising market worth over £30 billion per annum.
  • As with all search engines, companies pay an advertising fee when users click on links during their internet searches
  • Yahoo! receives its share from the advertising fee, then we split the remaining value 50-50 with CCF UK.
  • You MUST search through your Supporters Page in order to generate revenue for CCF UK.
